This is a snapshot of the total distance for the longitudinal profile through the State Parks reach of the Upper Truckee River . This portion is through most of the golf course stretch of the river, which includes the blowout section at the hole 6 bridge (the large pool at about 8,200'). The dramatic difference in bed elevation at this location is mainly from the 1997 flood event. This graph also shows the water elevation in relation to the bank elevation for a known discharge. At the 450 CFS discharge that is graphed the water surface should be almost overbanking, but in the current condition the river is in, the water surface is about 3 feet below the bank in most places.
